Under the Honorary
Patronage of the EU Presidency and thanks to the kind
support of the Embassy of Portugal in Romania, the Organising
Consortium of the
CEFTAC Platform established in October 2004 (Central European Advocacy for a Fair and
Transparent Competition) and in partnership with the Romanian
Competition Council, deploys at the Palace of the Parliament, on the 8th of November 2007, the
third edition of the European Competition and Competitiveness Day
in Romania, under the tehnical coordination of EUROLINK-House
of Europe Foundation.
The main topic of this
year Public Debate is: “The sharing of responsibilities and
prerogatives between the national authorities and the European
Commission regarding the competition regime after Romania’s
accession to the EU”. Along with the invited public
personalities and diplomats, the topic will be debated by experts of
the Competition Council, consultants in competition law from law
firms, by other experts from the private sector, as well as by the
main actors of the business environment –
entrepreneurs,
managers, and other practitioners.
The originality of this
year's edition will be the deployment of a special section entitled:
"Respecting
and implementing the acquis communautaire in the absorption
process of the Structural Funds in Romania. Case studies:
Aspects of organising fair and transparent procedures of public
procurements and of the notification of grants as State Aids".
At the end of the
event, in the context of marking a decade of existence, the House of
Europe will award the annual distinction “Personality of the Year
for a European Romania”. The ceremony will be followed by a Gala
Cocktail.
